[collectd] Exec plugin - forked process freezing with 4.10.1 on Ubuntu 12.04 (precise)

I've just compiled the vanilla 4.10.7 source and it exhibits the problem also. 

And similarly 5.1.0 exhibits the problem. 

I have seen the problem once on lucid 32bit with collectd 4.8.3.
