> Hello
> We've been using the Exec plugin to great effect on our collectd servers running on Ubuntu 10.04 (lucid) with collectd version 4.9.x but after upgrading to Ubuntu 12.04 (precise) and using the new version of collectd it ships with (4.10.1) the Exec plugin is now intermittently failing. What happens is similar to a thread from 2010 where the collectd process forks but then freezes up before exec'ing the external command specified in the Exec plugin definition.

It looks as pretty much same things as I encountered identical behavior.
I also at some point ran bisect on that and find when it "broke":
altho I'm not sure if its "new" or "old" bug because after that I
splitted my collectd instalation to so exec never runs on
unixsock-enabled ones

Hope it helps :)
