[collectd] collectd + rrdcached that works?

Can anyone point me to a collectd and rrdtool version combo that works 
using rrdcached? I thought collectd-4.6.3 + rrdtool-1.3.99909021900 
until I discovered that the flushing is somehow broken. collectd doesn't 
seem to compile with the latest rrdtool 1.4 rc or trunk. I'll keep 
poking around, but if there is a combo that is known to work it would 
save me time to figure it out.
