[collectd] Unsuccessful use of dpdkstat plugin

Hello,

We have been trying to use the dpdkstat plugin on collectd without success.

Although it seems to be enabled, no dpdkstats metrics are reported with the
LISTVAL request of the plain text protocol.



We have followed the instructions at
https://buildmedia.readthedocs.org/media/pdf/opnfv-barometer/stable-gambia/opnfv-barometer.pdf
(in “DPDK plugins” section), and at
https://github.com/collectd/collectd/blob/master/docs/BUILD.dpdkstat.md.



In the logs we can see that the dpdkstat plugin has been successfully
loaded.



Is there anything that we may be missing? Should we have a DPDK app
actively using the DPDK-bound interfaces for stats to be listed?
