[collectd] restart collectd daemon stops receiving data from clients

Hello,

We are using collectd 4.6.1-1 on CentOS 5 to monitor a few dozens of servers.

One problem that we couldn't find a solution for so far is that
whenever the collectd daemon which concentrates the results is
restarted (e.g. when the server it runs on is switched to the
secondary) all the graphs will be flat (and no data will be collected)
until we restart collectd on all the monitored servers.

Searching around we didn't find any mention of such a problem so I
suspect it's something that we do wrong.

We use RRD to collect the data.

Any hints?
