hm, an incompatibility is basically out of the question, since I use the
same versions ;)

Anyway, the plugins *should* be installed in $(pkglibdir). Can you grep
for `pkglibdir' in src/Makefile? Is does that include the tarname, too?

Did you try to re-generate the configure stuff ``by hand''? If you have
the git repository checked out you can use the `build.sh' script to do
that for you. If not, you can find it here:

Other than that I'm pretty clueless.. The autotools are weird.. ;)
