[collectd] Switching to `git'

Hi everybody,

I'll switch the collectd repository to `git'. I want to start on some
features I want in version 4 eventually. However, the two versions will
have to live next to each other for quite some time. I think it's easier
to make the switch _before_ packing the new release, which is due soon.

If you want to contribute to the project, there are basically two ways
to do it.
1) The preferred method is to clone the git repository, make your
changes and send in a patch using `git-format-patch' and
`git-send-email'. You can clone the repository with the following
   command:
   $ git clone git://git.verplant.org/collectd
You can browse the git-repository on the web under this URL:
   http://git.verplant.org/?p=collectd.git;a=summary

If you're new to git you might want to read some introductionay
   material:
   http://www.kernel.org/pub/software/scm/git/docs/tutorial.html
   http://www.kernel.org/pub/software/scm/git/docs/everyday.html

2) The second best method is to send (unified) diffs against some
   release, as usual.

Regards,
-octo
