Hi everybody,

I'm pleased to announce version 2.1.0 of SSC Serv, the System Statistics
Collection Service. This version is a feature release, i.e. it
introduces a couple of new features.

New features
------------
The most important new feature is the "Generic PDH" plugin. This
plugin allows you to query any PDH counter on the system and send its
value to one or more collectd servers. Using this plugin you can utilize
SSC Serv in special use cases, for example to track IPv6 routing
failures. Configuring the plugin requires understanding of the collectd
naming schema [0]. If you have used similar generic plugins with
collectd, you will have no trouble getting this plugin up and running.

Another metric has been added to the "Memory" plugin. If enabled, it
will now also produce "page file statistics" [1].

Bug fixes
---------
A possible but unlikely failed assertion when using the configuration
utility has been fixed. Very likely the code path has not been used
prior to the "Generic PDH" plugin.

An incorrect error message in the "Memory" plugin has been corrected.

Download
--------
SSC Serv 2.1.0 is available for download from the customer's area on
ssc-serv.com. Please log in using the credentials that have been sent to
you with your invoice:

Demo version
------------
A demo version of SSC Serv can be downloaded from ssc-serv.com free of
charge. You can download installer packages for i386 and x86_64 from:

  <http://ssc-serv.com/download.shtml>

The demo has very limited functionality and doesn't provide the features
discussed above.

Best regards,
Florian Forster

[1] The task manager up to Windows Server 2003 called this "Commit
Charge", later versions call it "System: Page File".
