[collectd] [RFC] idea: write_rest plugin

Hi everyone,


I recently learned that the write_prometheus[1] plugin - very nice
addition btw -

embeds one http server, and accepts requests from prometheus itself.


I was wondering if one similar plugin but for REST queries would be
accepted in the mainline.

What I was thinking of:

1. new plugin inspired by write_prometheus, reusing libmicrohttpd

2. support only for GET

3. optional auth and TLS support


I haven't written any code yet, just in the design phase. Would that be
interesting for the project?
