[collectd] plugins as symlinks

Hello,

plugin.c does an S_ISREG check on plugin .so files. What is the purpose of
this check ? Can this be made configurable to allow symlinks to the .so
files ?

We maintain versions of .sos and use symlinks to point to the current
version.
