[collectd] GaugeInc: Patch for "tail" plugin

Since I've got no response, I'm attaching the patch file generated
according to the instructions at 
http://collectd.org/development/submitting-patches.shtml. Is this enough
to make sure the code is released after 4.10.0 releases?

Hi,

 

I've encountered the following problem (looks like missing
functionality) with CollectD tail plugin. I'd like to present number of
encountered patterns in RRD graph "as is". Reading RRD documentation at 
http://oss.oetiker.ch/rrdtool/tut/rrdtutorial.en.html revealed that I
need GAUGE RRD type for this to happen.

 

However, tail plugin is missing GaugeInc DSType, so I had to patch the
code to make this change. If this functionality already exists, I would
appreciate an explanation on how to configure it.

 

Q1: does this change make sense?

Q2: will you accept and maintain GaugeInc changes starting from 4.10.0
version?
