[collectd] more on collectd with gmond

Finally back to working on this issue.

The only libganglia installed on the system (Ubunto 10.04LTS desktop) is 
libganglia-3.1.2 which was installed along with ganglia-3.1.2.

I purged the entire collectd installation and reinstalled with apt-get 
install

collectd-core
collectd-dev
collectd-dbg

edited the collectd.conf file to only turn on logging,csv,rrd and gmond. 
I am getting exactly the same results as before (see previous posts in 
this thread).

Also, I followed you directions to create a core file, however none is 
being created.
