Hello Octo, yes, we discussed this: http://mailman.verplant.org/pipermail/collectd/2009-May/002785.html  back in may. It doesn't seem to have made it into 4.8 (at least I couldn't find it mentioned anywhere?) - any plan to integrate this feature in 4.9? I believe it would be a massive win... would lower the IO on disks for sure (less points where it's not so relevant to have a value every 20secs).
