the problem is that collectd uses UDP packets, but afaIk SSH only does
TCP forwarding. If you search for `ssh udp forwarding' you'll find some
nasty hacks to get the UDP traffic through SSH somehow, but I'd rather
use something like OpenVPN <http://openvpn.net/> in this case.
