Hi again,
yesterday collectd died on me again and I got a stack backtrace. I
didn't find _the_ bug yet, but apparently it's in the ntpd plugin.
Yesterday, while being under heavy load, two collectd instances running
on my fileserver died. What's interesting is that one was collectd-3,
one was collectd-4 and they both died at the same time. This indicates
to the ntpd sending us stuff we don't expect. I don't know how the heavy
load comes into play, but possibly offset gets very large or something.
The versions involved are:
- ntp-server 4.2.0a from Debian sarge, and
- collectd 3.11.0 and 4 from git.
Regards,
-octo
