debian etch on amd64 and i386.
I cannot confirm whether the network-plugin works on sparc, however I 
would be quite surprised to learn that it did not. (I presume you are 
running Linux) Besides the tools already mentioned, you might try 
running it under strace. (the -f parameter is your friend).
