[collectd] git repository missing NEWS file?

configure.in: installing `./install-sh'
configure.in: installing `./missing'
src/Makefile.am: installing `./compile'
src/Makefile.am: installing `./depcomp'
Makefile.am: installing `./INSTALL'
Makefile.am: required file `./NEWS' not found
Makefile.am: installing `./COPYING'

just pointing this out.. build.sh exits prior to autoconf because of this.
