explore if there is a way of configuring collectd to work with nagios running

collectd-nagios plugin and learned that one needs to pass the socket filename
for collectd’s unix sock plugin.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

10.0pt;font-family:"Trebuchet MS"'>This would suggest that collectd-nagios and
collectd instance have to run on the same machine.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

10.0pt;font-family:"Trebuchet MS"'>It is a business requirement for us that we
collect RRD files (using collectd) on a machine different than the one running
